Taking Time Out!

Yes; friends......I will be off-line until the 12th December,2009. I'm off the computer and phone and out of my studio once again for some quiet time and quality time with my "dear one" and; my gorgeous little dog. There will be some friends along too, to have some fun with; so I am looking forward to some rest and recreation......but; I will be back so watch this space!
I just thought I would share with you that...... I can't remember a Christmas without these delightful treats. Always lovingly prepared by our Mother ........Rum Balls to snack on before lunch;
Pavlova for dessert with the freshest of fruit salad;

and fruit cake to eat anytime.....mmmm....I spoke to my Mother on the phone to-day and she has baked ours already; and it will be in the mail soon. Yes, our dear mother who is in her 80's bakes a fruit cake for all her children and grandchildren each year. We are blessed!

These mouth watering pics came from the 'Aussie Cooking' site. Why don't you pop over there and have a look at these traditional Australian Christmas recipes.

and while surfing around to-day; I found this wonderful tutorial on how to turn the lid of an old can into a sweet little Christmas fridge magnet.....felt I wanted to share it with you as; it gets my vote for a cutest way to re-purpose something that would normally be discarded. Take a look at how they are done at 'Insightful Nana'.
Happy Christmas Cooking and Crafting!

I'm going to miss you, but have a wonderful, relaxing time!!! My grandma used to make fruitcakes every year - people would call her and request them, lol. I didn't like the taste but helped her make them.

How fortunate you are that your mum still bakes fruitcakes for all of you! I hope you are enjoying a creative and lovely time away! We all need a break, don't we? I just stopped by to say thank you for your lovely design in the Gum Tree Designer's Series. I love the combination of the roses and the holly. I plan to make the bag as a gift ..... for me. :-)
